The must visit Mount Abu

Mount Abu, a dreamy hills station located on the western part of Rajasthan is a favorite honeymoon destination and a peaceful holiday place. In comparison to the other cities in Rajasthan, this place has a relatively cool climate. The place is not very large and the best medium of transport is to hire a two wheeler ranging between Rs.250-300.

The main attraction of Mount Abu is Dilwara Jain Temple. The temple is more then 1000 years old and offers an architecture which is mesmerizing. Unfortunately mobile phones and DSLR's are not allowed inside the premises. The interior of the temple is breathtakingly beautiful and I must say that it looks prettier than Taj Mahal ! Inside the temple, the carvings on the walls and ceilings are so accurate that it is hard to imagine that someone had done it with only ancient tools.

The second most visited place in Mount Abu is Nakki Lake. A small lake surrounded by hills is beautiful picnic spot where you can enjoy boat rides and local cuisines. The place bustles with lot of crowd every day!!

Market place of Mount Abu

Don't miss the lovely sunrise in Mount Abu. I woke up early to capture the beautiful hues of the sky.

Trevor's Tank- A lesser known place, this is a breeding place of crocodiles. A quaint place in the middle of a forest is spooky and adventurous. Spotting crocs here is a challenge! Rest, you can bask in the Sun, mount the bird's eye hill top or just soak in the tranquility of the place.
