Udaipur- Jagdish Temple and Bagore ki haveli

Jagdish temple is more than 500 years old. The construction was completed in 1651 and situated in middle of the town. It very near from the exit gate of city palace and in between there is a very old souvenir market. The temple is very beautiful with carvings on all the walls and one can only imagine that how precisely they have done it in that era with few equipment. The main attraction of bagore ki haveli is the entire cycle of Rajputana marriage through idols and a room full of puppets. Here is my photo journal on Jagdish Temple and Bagore ki haveli.

Udaipur- City Palace

Udaipur is located in the southwest of Nagda which was the capital of Mewar. It was founded by Maharana Udai Singh of the Sisodia clan in 1553. Before Udaipur Chittorgarh was the capital of Mewar kingdom.

City Palace, overlooking Lake Pichola, is a monumental complex of 11 palaces, courtyards and gardens, famed for its intricate peacock mosaics. The establishment is almost 400 years Old; the construction was started by Maharana Udai II Singh in 1553, he is also the founder of this city. Several rulers of Mewar dynasty contributed in the construction. The architecture is a combination of Hindu and Mughal dynasty. The location is situated on a hill top on the east cost of Lake Pichola.

We had a wonderful time staying in Hotel Le Roi which is just outside the railway station. It is advisable to book a flight. We had booked our rail ticket almost 3 months back with a waiting of 12 but unfortunately our tickets were not conformed. It was a miracle that 2 passengers missed there Train and the TT was kind enough to offer us their seats

Almost 80% of the compound is now a museum and photography is strictly probated. The ticket of the palace is very normal but we have paid Rs.500 for the museum which I felt is very expensive. I have tried to capture whatever I could with limited access of camera.

Zodiac fancy

Zodiac in Fortune Select Excalibur never fails to innovates and constantly surprises with twists in its cuisines. Be it the theme, the decor or experiment with menu Zodiac caters to all taste buds in its own special way.

The mouth-watering journey of culinary ecstasy with cuisines from all around the
world, this time themes with street food, was another wonderful experience for me!

The food tasting session was organized on 30th November.

The "Street Food Festival" had a diverse menu ranging from veg to non veg across different regions of the World. To start with the lip smacking menu, there was  a huge variety of salad and soups for the health conscious ones. Purani Dilli's Kachori, veg and non veg wraps, Kolkata's puchka (gol gappa) were my personal favorites.

Akki Roti with Mysore Chicken curry and Bihar's Litti Chokha were great items in the menu. Curated with love, all dishes had the right balance of salt, oil and spices. Full points for the presentation they made!

Rolls from Kolkata were hot selling cakes here.

Popularly known as golgappa, these are called puchka in Kolkata and paani batasha in UP. A girl's delight and a common delicacy at road sides, puchka is served with blend with sweet spicy water and stuffing of chana & mashed potatoes. While this tastes great, it also comes with highly unhygienic factors, the most common ones being dirty hands dipped inside water y the street vendor. EEwww. In Zodiac hygiene is right there in front of your eyes and you can customize your puckha in your own way. I loved it and can keep coming back here just for Puchka :-)

The ambience, hygiene and comfort of a hotel adds so much value! Street food has its own charm. However, hygiene is one of the biggest issues these days. So why not enjoy the same teet food in much classier and better environment?
