Biological Name- (Cygnus atratus)

Commonly found in the southeast and southwest regions of Australia. . A subspecies was hunted by the Maori’s to extinction. Later in 1864 the Australian black swan was introduced and now they are very common in New Zealand. 

Conservation Status- Least Concern
